Tips #16 :: Make your own questions (write in the book/qbank/color-pen)

Once you have decided to prepare for PMP® exam, the best way to prepare and pass it confidently is to decide a time frame. 6 to 8 weeks is a very good timeline. Decide the timeline, prepare your study plan and go for it!

If keeping to your planned study schedule was so easy, then many people would have easily passed this examination. One major reason why people find it difficult to study is: you cannot stick to your study plans. It is after a long time you are taking up something that requires studying. You have left the habit of regular studies a long time ago! Maybe more than 5 years. After your college, you might not have studied regularly again. You did not need to! When did you sit for more than half an hour at one place quietly?  It is very difficult to find time regularly with so many things screaming for attention for a single day. Doing it continuously for a period of time is unimaginable!! Isn’t it?

On the other hand, to pass PMP® Examination, you need to prepare regularly. You need to find time regularly. Commitment is really important. The best way to keep your commitment is to have a study buddy! Having a study buddy is a way to stay committed and study regularly

Thanks to the internet, you and your study buddy need not study physically together. You can get in touch with each other and keep in sync if you want to. My school going granddaughter studies with her friends on zoom. She was the one who had started getting jittery while studying last year. Studying together virtually has helped her a lot!

Having a study buddy has many other advantages too

  1. You can teach each other. Teaching is the best way to ensure that you have understood the concept. Two  heads are better than one!
  2. You will encourage each other to stick to commitments. Sometimes, push each other if required
  3. You can quiz each other and revise
  4. Your study buddy can help you get over potential procrastination (You can help him too!!)
