Is the PMP Exam Difficult?

The PMP exam has changed very recently, in January-2021. The pattern has changed totally. Before January, 2021, the exam questions were based on only 5 process groups and there was a general feeling that it did not accommodate the new project management trends. It was felt that the PMPⓇ exam caters only to waterfall projects and not to the Agile projects, which is the current trend.

The New Exam

The PMPexam changes every few years. PMIⓇ gets a  “Role Delineation Study”  study done for this exam to ensure validity of the examination in the current context. The exam changes are based on this study.

The PMPExamination now:

The exam now contains 175 questions. They are divided into 3 groups namely People (75 questions), Processes (90 Questions) and Business Environment (15 Questions). The exam content outline defines various tasks in these groups. All the 180 questions are based on these tasks. In other words, the tasks are based on the current trends in the industry. They describe what a project manager has to do to manage a project effectively.
